project 03: We are the Weather: Weather API data visualisation

To create a Weather API data visualisation of my family members' locations. Using Python and Touchdesigner, I extracted specific weather data to develop generative visuals representing the live conditions of those particular cities, intending to display the information as a multiple-screen installation or series of projections showing the various perspectives in one place. The visuals include live camera streams from the cities, distorted through chosen weather conditions. My work aims to act as a 'cut' where, since I cannot see and feel how my family is, I am opening a window through screens, which in some way becomes informative. Today, it is interesting how we experience weather through technology while we rely on weather apps to tell us what it is like outside instead of opening the window to see for ourselves.
